How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Foster a safe, supportive, and structured environment where all students feel valued and supported.

    * Help students develop communication, social, and life skills using strategies and tools such as Makaton, PECS, or other assistive technology (training provided if necessary).

    * Provide emotional and behavioral support to students, implementing agreed behavior management strategies.

    * Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

    * Attend and contribute to meetings regarding student progress and welfare, keeping accurate records and monitoring their individual development.

    * Act as a positive role model and develop strong, trusting relationships with students and their families.

    Essential Requirements:

    * Experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly PMLD, SEND, and ASD.

    * Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with challenging behavior or complex needs.

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents/carers.

    * Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to undertake training in specialist areas (e.g., behavior management, communication strategies, personal care).

    * Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

    Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

    * Previous experience in a similar SEN support role, particularly in an alternative provision or specialist school setting.

    * A solid understanding of EHCPs and how they guide the learning and support of students with additional needs.

    Why Join Us?

    * Be part of a committed team that makes a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

    * Opportunity to receive comprehensive training in specialist areas such as communication strategies, therapeutic interventions, and personal care.
