The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced Area Maintenance Surveyor to help ensure its housing stock remains safe, well-maintained, and fit for the future. Key Responsibilities
·Manage a designated patch of residential properties.
·Carry out property inspections relating to repairs, damp and mould, voids, disrepair, and planned maintenance.
·Diagnose building defects and specify appropriate remedial works.
·Prepare technical reports, specifications, and schedules of work.
·Monitor contractor performance, ensuring quality, value for money, and compliance with relevant standards.
·Ensure all works are undertaken in line with health and safety legislation and housing regulations.
·Liaise with tenants and residents, providing clear communication throughout repair and maintenance projects.
·Support wider asset management initiatives and long-term investment programmes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
·Experience in building maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, or surveying.
·Previous experience working within social housing, local authority, or public sector environments.
·Strong knowledge of building pathology and defect diagnosis.
·Experience producing technical reports and specifications.
·Understanding of housing-related legislation and standards, including HHSRS.
·Experience managing contractors and monitoring performance.
·Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
