The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client, a prominent player in the rail industry, is currently seeking a Rail Civils Construction Manager for a contract position based in Manchester. This role offers a hybrid working model with three days in the office and potential travel to Huddersfield for meetings and site checks. The position is inside IR35 and is set to commence ASAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and overseeing construction works with a focus on lineside civils such as troughing, signal bases, bases, walkways, UTX etc
Planning and allocation of resources to ensure project efficiency
Driving the construction side of works to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Conducting regular site checks and meetings as required
Ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with rail industry standards and safety protocols
Collaborating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Previous experience as a Construction Manager within the rail sector
Must hold a valid PTS certification
Strong knowledge of lineside civils works including troughing, bases, walkways, and UTX
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Understanding of rail industry standards and safety requirements
UK driving licence preferred
