An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join a friendly and supportive payroll team. This role is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop a long-term career in payroll. Whether you already have some payroll experience or are eager to build your knowledge, full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Your new role
Support the processing of monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees.
Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, including starters and leavers.
Ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date, including pay changes, overtime and deductions.
Administer statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and SPP.
Support pension administration and payroll compliance requirements.
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including P60s and HMRC documentation.
Respond to payroll queries and liaise with external organisations where required.
Ensure compliance with Right to Work and UK payroll legislation.
What you'll need to succeed
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Discreet and professional approach when handling confidential information.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Previous payroll experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
