Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Control Engineer / Manager to join a growing heavy engineering and structural steel business based in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting quality assurance and quality control activities across fabrication, welding and manufacturing operations, ensuring projects are delivered in line with client specifications, industry standards and internal quality procedures.
This role would suit somebody with a strong background within heavy engineering, fabrication, welding, structural steel or manufacturing environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Reviewing and implementing project specifications and participating in contract reviews
Formulating and managing project quality documentation in line with client specifications
Supporting all aspects of Quality Assurance and Quality Control across the business
Conducting and supporting supply chain audits
Implementing and maintaining the company Quality Management System
LTQR compilation and document review
Supporting welding, fabrication and coating quality activities
Liaising closely with operational, fabrication and project teams to ensure compliance with quality requirements
Managing NCRs, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities
Supporting internal and external audits where required
Ensuring all documentation and records are maintained accurately and in line with industry standards
Requirements
Minimum 4+ years’ experience within a QA/QC, Quality Engineer or Quality Manager position
Experience within heavy engineering, fabrication, structural steel, welding or manufacturing environments advantageous
Experience delivering projects within defence, power generation, oil & gas or nuclear sectors beneficial
Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and quality documentation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Good planning and project management skills
Ability to lead, motivate and support operational teams
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to support change and continuous improvement initiatives

Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00
Friday: 08:30 – 14:30
