How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Who is Chevron Traffic Management

Chevron Traffic Management, part of Ramudden Global UK, helps keep the UK moving safely. We plan and deliver temporary traffic management for roadworks and infrastructure projects, including lane closures, diversion routes, pedestrian walkways, signage, cones, temporary lights and barriers.

Behind every scheme is a skilled team working with customers, suppliers and operational colleagues to make sure each project is safe, efficient and fit for purpose.

It is a fast-paced and rewarding industry where innovation, teamwork and safety come together — and our people make Chevron TM a great place to work.

About the role of Assistant Operations Manager:

At Chevron Traffic Management, the Assistant Operations Manager plays a vital supporting role in ensuring the seamless and efficient functioning of regional operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, support strategic initiatives, optimise resource allocation, and uphold quality and compliance standards across all activities.

You’ll be instrumental in assisting with the supervision of regional teams, contributing to the expansion of our client base, and playing a hands-on role in developing long-term business initiatives. Your ability to build rapport with both existing and potential clients will be essential to driving customer retention and uncovering new opportunities.

In your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll:

Support the delivery of a high-quality service across all operational activities
Assist in motivating, guiding, and developing team members by ensuring they’re fully trained and informed of all company policies, procedures, and safety practices
Contribute to the implementation of toolbox talks, safety alerts, and project-specific methodologies
Help monitor the depot’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are well-maintained and efficiently deployed
Liaise closely with the Operations Manager and collaborate with cross-functional teams to share best practices and support business growth

A strong focus on Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) will be crucial. You will support the effective implementation of our ESG and HSQE policies to ensure that every operational activity is compliant, sustainable, and aligned with our company values.

This is a position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is eager to learn, and is committed to operational excellence. It offers a clear path to further leadership opportunities and a meaningful impact on the company's continued success.

About you:

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and confident individual who is ready to take the next step in their operational career. Knowledge of the Traffic Management industry would be beneficial, but we also welcome applications from candidates with experience in Operations, Logistics, Planning, Construction, Utilities or a similar fast-paced environment. You will be a strong communicator and team player, able to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers while supporting the delivery of safe and efficient operations.

What good looks like for an Assistant Operations Manager:

A right to work in the UK unsponsored
Full UK manual licence with no more than 6 points
Experience in the Traffic Management, Construction, Utilities or similar industry
Experience supporting or supervising a team within an operational environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues, customers and sector stakeholders
Good numeracy skills with the ability to support budget, cost and commercial processes
A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to support changing business needs
Collaborative in approach
Proficient in the use of a PC, Microsoft Office software and ability to work with other business management systems and use remote technology
Local knowledge of the region’s construction and maintenance market, including National Highways, local authority highway maintenance or utilities highways works, would be beneficial

We would also appreciate it if you had:

TTME
Lantra Sector Scheme qualifications (beneficial)
IOSH Managing Safely/SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
Other formal commercial or business management qualifications

So, if you want to join a winning team and be part of an innovative organisation which is focused on company growth and employee progression, click on the apply button today.
