TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school based in Northfield, Birmingham. This warm and nurturing setting supports pupils aged 4 - 19 with severe learning disabilities and physical needs, offering a caring environment where students are encouraged to develop independence through meaningful learning experiences and regular educational trips within the community.
The school is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for flexible day-to-day and short-term cover. The successful Teaching Assistant will support students both in the classroom and during community-based activities, working closely with teaching staff to meet individual learning, personal care and mobility needs while maintaining a safe, positive and engaging environment.
The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
• Experience supporting children or young adults with severe learning disabilities (SLD) and physical needs
• A caring, patient and positive approach to supporting students with additional needs
• The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A Child and Adult Workforce DBS on the Update Service or be happy to apply for one
• A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
