The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We seek a minimum HNC qualified Electronics, Control systems or Automation Engineer with ideally some relevant work placement experience to join a growing organisation in the Leeds area. A second language in particular German or French would also be of great interest.
You will initially work with existing clients maintaining relationships, processing, and managing customer orders and providing technical support. Your role as a Sales Engineer will be 80% office based in Leeds and will include:
Liaising with existing customers on a day to day basis regarding orders, post sales enquiries & issues
Providing comprehensive technical support by phone, email and face to face when necessary
Building up and managing excellent customer relationships with distributors and end users
Up selling and cross selling where possible
Researching and cold calling new and potential customers
Providing quotations, producing BOM's and purchasing from existing suppliers
Working with internal development teams and external manufacturers to ensure client specifications are met
You will be :
A confident engineer with excellent communication skills happy to take on a sales role
Hold a relevant Electronics, control systems or automation qualification minimum HNC
Have excellent communication and persuasive skills
Have confident administration and organisational skills
Be a good problem solver
Ideally have worked in a sales or customer support role
Hold a full UK driving licence
We are particularly keen to hear from people with:
A second language in particular German
Experience in ATEX environments, beneficial but not essential.
Knowledge of materials handling or special purpose machinery
Experience with sensors and instrumentation
You will work with a friendly and well-established team for a long standing business with an excellent reputation and low staff turnover.
