TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEMH secondary provision in Oldbury, supporting young people who require a highly structured, nurturing and trauma-informed approach to learning. The setting provides a supportive environment where relationships, consistency and behaviour support are central to pupil progress.
We are currently seeking a dedicated SEMH English Teacher to join the school on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to move into a temp to perm role for the right SEMH English Teacher. The successful SEMH English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4, with a strong focus on behaviour management, emotional regulation and helping pupils re-engage with learning.
The successful SEMH English Teacher will have:
• QTS with an English specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching English up to KS4
• Strong behaviour management skills within SEMH or similar settings
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, EBD or additional needs
• A calm, resilient and consistent approach
• The ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people
