How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Building trusting relationships and establishing positive, consistent routines.

Adapting teaching and activities to individual abilities, interests and learning styles.

Using trauma-informed, relationship-led and positive behaviour strategies.

Supporting emotional regulation, confidence, independence and engagement.

Observing progress and contributing to baseline assessments, individual learning plans and regular progress reports.

Recording attendance through our attendance system and communicating any concerns promptly.

Working collaboratively with families, the AP Education team and relevant professionals to support positive outcomes.

Supporting transitions towards further education, specialist provision or mainstream education where appropriate.

Candidate ProfileWe welcome applications from:

Qualified teachers, tutors, HLTAs and experienced SEND practitioners.

Professionals with experience in alternative provision, outreach education or home tuition.

Youth workers, mentors and practitioners with relevant experience supporting CYP with SEND or SEMH.

Candidates with strong relationship-building skills and experience engaging CYP who may be reluctant to participate in formal learning.

QTS or relevant teaching qualifications are desirable. Applicants without formal teaching qualifications may be considered where they have substantial relevant UK experience.

You will be adaptable, reliable, compassionate and confident working independently while maintaining clear communication with the wider team.
