1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Southend-on-Sea
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Vision for Education is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Southend-on-Sea.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with additional learning needs.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
Support the pupil's academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in classroom activities.
Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
Has experience supporting children with SEND, including autism, ADHD or speech and language needs (desirable but not essential).
Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with children and staff.
Has strong communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach.
Holds or is willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
