The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
ADVANCE GRID SOLUTIONS
Job Description & Recruitment Pack
Business Development Coordinator
Grid-Scale Battery Storage & Solar | Glasgow (hybrid) | Full time, permanent
Reports to: Business Development Lead
About AGS
Advance Grid Solutions (AGS) is a Scotland-based EPC and ICP contractor delivering grid-scale battery energy storage (BESS) and solar projects across the UK, from origination through to energisation. We work directly with asset owners, developers and utilities on distribution-connected projects, and our growth is driven by a strong delivery record and long-term client relationships.
The role
Our pipeline of opportunities is growing faster than our capacity to work it. We are hiring a Business Development Coordinator to own the front end of our sales process: researching the market, building and qualifying target lists, making first contact with prospective clients, and booking qualified meetings for our Business Development Lead and senior team.
This is a research-and-outreach role, not a closing role. You will not be expected to negotiate contracts or price work — your job is to make sure our senior people spend their time in front of the right prospects, fully briefed, at the right moment in a project's development.
What you'll do
* Market intelligence — monitor planning portals, grid connection queue data, industry databases and news sources to identify BESS and solar projects and the parties behind them.
* Lead research & qualification — build and maintain target lists of genuine asset owners and developers and qualify each prospect against our bid/no-bid criteria (connection status, planning position, funding, procurement route).
* Outreach — run first-touch outreach by email, phone and LinkedIn to open conversations and secure introductory meetings.
* Meeting coordination — book qualified meetings into the diary, prepare concise briefing notes on each prospect, and coordinate follow-up actions.
* Pipeline hygiene — keep our CRM/pipeline tracker accurate and current: every prospect has an owner, a status, a next action and a date.
* Support — assist with industry events, conference attendance and marketing activity alongside the wider team.
What we're looking for
* 1–3 years' experience in a research, coordination, sales development or analyst role — B2B, energy, construction, property or professional services backgrounds all work.
* Genuine interest in the UK energy transition; familiarity with grid connections, renewables development or planning processes is a strong advantage.
* Confident communicator, comfortable picking up the phone to people you haven't met.
* Organised and systematic — you like lists, trackers and getting things logged properly.
* Strong written English and solid Excel/Office skills.
* Self-starter who can work to a weekly rhythm of targets (prospects researched, contacts made, meetings booked).
What we offer
* £32,000–£35,000 depending on experience.
* A front-row seat in one of the fastest-growing sectors in UK infrastructure, with direct exposure to the Managing Director and senior delivery team.
* Clear progression path into a full business development or commercial role as the company grows.
* Working from our Glasgow base, 33 days' holiday, and company pension.
