The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a hands-on, employee relations focused role. You'll manage a varied ER caseload, support managers through complex people processes and contribute to a team that's actively building its capability and reputation across a large, multi-site, unionised workforce operating throughout the Lothians.
What you'll be doing:
* Managing a varied ER caseload covering disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, conduct and appeal matters
* Providing clear, balanced and practical advice to managers, ensuring cases are handled fairly and consistently
* Supporting investigations, hearings and appeals, including preparing documentation and advising on process
* Coaching managers to address people issues confidently and at the earliest appropriate stage
* Building constructive relationships with trade union and employee representatives
* Identifying themes from casework and contributing to improvements in policy, process and manager guidance
What we're looking for:
* Solid experience managing ER cases in a busy, fast-paced or operational environment
* Good working knowledge of UK employment law, ACAS guidance and ER best practice
* Ability to interpret policy and give clear, proportionate advice under pressure
* Strong communication skills and confident stakeholder management at all levels
* CIPD Level 5 or equivalent relevant experience
* Experience in a unionised, multi-site or similarly complex setting is a real advantage
