The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

What You'll Do
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting customers across the UK:
Install and commission advanced measurement and inspection systems (CMM, optical, and X-ray equipment)
Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns on customer sites
Provide both on-site and remote technical support
Carry out calibration, servicing, and preventative maintenance
Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring high service standards
Manage documentation through CRM and internal systems (service reports, calibration records, etc.)
Coordinate parts, tools, and travel arrangements for site visitsThis is a home-based, field role with significant travel, including regular overnight stays during the week.
What You'll Need (Experience / Qualifications)
We're open to a range of engineering backgrounds, but you'll ideally have:
Hands-on experience in maintenance, servicing, or installation of machinery
Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
Exposure to manufacturing or production environmentsDesirable Backgrounds:
Field Service Engineers (telecoms, machinery, or similar)
Maintenance Engineers (manufacturing, automotive, aerospace)
CNC machinery or automation experience
Armed Forces / RAF / military engineering backgrounds
Experience with robotics, automation, or complex systemsPersonal Fit:
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
Strong problem-solving mindset
Willingness to travel and stay away during the week
Keen to learn and develop within a high-tech environment
