Prepper Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 06:00 - 14:00
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x Monday-Friday and 2x on weekends

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established rolling stock engineering business, preparing rail vehicles and components for painting and refurbishment. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are finished to the highest standards by carrying out all preparation work prior to the paint process.

The Role As a Prepper, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing rolling stock vehicles and components for painting and refinishing.
Sanding, filling, masking and cleaning vehicle surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish.
Removing defects, corrosion and imperfections from metal surfaces.
Using a variety of hand and power tools to prepare components.
Working from engineering drawings and job instructions where required.
Carrying out repairs and preparation work to meet customer quality standards.
Inspecting prepared surfaces before they move into the paint process.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Following all health & safety procedures and company policies.
Supporting the wider production team when required.The Successful Candidate Will Have
Previous experience in a Prepper role within rolling stock, automotive, aerospace or a similar manufacturing environment.
Essential: Previous experience with sanding, filling and preparing surfaces for painting.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
Good awareness of health & safety within a workshop environment.Recruitment Process Before starting, successful candidates will be required to:
