An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Birmingham. Working as part of a close-knit engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining a variety of production machinery through planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown response and continuous improvement activities, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and minimal production downtime.
Sector: Manufacturing / Factory Maintenance
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery.
Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns in a timely manner.
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Support continuous improvement projects to improve machinery reliability and efficiency.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise plant performance.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
Essential Requirements
Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
Experience carrying out planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
Recognised mechanical engineering qualification.
A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Experience
Experience working within UK manufacturing.
Exposure to automated production machinery.
Continuous improvement experience.
