How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A respected and rapidly growing Fire Safety Consultancy is seeking a Fire Consultant to join their Birmingham team. This Fire Consultant role offers a regionalised workload across the Midlands, working with commercial property owners, housing associations, educational facilities and public sector clients.

    The successful Fire Consultant will join a collaborative team of Fire Risk Assessors, Fire Engineers and Building Safety professionals. This Fire Consultant position has been created due to continued growth and increasing demand from existing clients throughout the Midlands region.

    The Fire Consultant will benefit from a varied project portfolio, genuine flexibility and a clear progression pathway within an expanding consultancy. This Fire Consultant role would suit somebody looking to broaden their technical exposure whilst maintaining strong client-facing responsibilities.

    The Fire Consultant will be encouraged to develop specialist expertise and progress towards Senior Fire Consultant level. The Fire Consultant will have the opportunity to work closely with Directors and influence the growth of the business.

    You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role

    The Fire Consultant's Role

    * Conduct Fire Risk Assessments across a wide variety of property types

    * Advise clients on compliance with Fire Safety legislation

    * Produce detailed technical reports and recommendations

    * Support clients with Building Safety Act requirements

    * Deliver fire safety audits and inspections

    * Build and maintain strong client relationships

    * Provide technical guidance to stakeholders

    * Support wider consultancy projects where required

    The Fire Consultant

    * Experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments

    * Membership of IFSM, IFE or equivalent desirable

    * Strong understanding of UK Fire Safety legislation

    * Excellent communication and report writing skills

    * Consultancy experience preferred

    * Full UK Driving Licence
