Role OverviewWe're currently recruiting for a temporary Legal Administrator to join a busy legal office in Southampton. This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong audio typing skills to provide valuable support within a professional legal environment.
The role is initially for 2 weeks, with the potential for the assignment to be extended. The successful candidate will be confident with audio typing, have excellent attention to detail, and be comfortable supporting the wider team with general administrative and secretarial duties.
Key Responsibilities
Providing general administrative and secretarial support to the legal team.
Audio typing letters, documents, and correspondence from dictation.
Typing accurately and efficiently from audio recordings.
Photocopying and preparing documents.
Making up and maintaining files.
Supporting the team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Answering incoming telephone calls and taking messages.
Putting calls through to the relevant member of the team.
Providing general support to the office as required.
Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Working as part of a team and supporting colleagues wherever needed.
Candidate Requirements
Previous administration, legal administration, or secretarial experience.
Confident audio typing skills are essential.
Strong typing skills with a good level of accuracy.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong general administrative skills.
Good telephone manner and communication skills.
Reliable, organised, and able to provide support to the wider team.
A positive, helpful attitude and willingness to get involved.
Comfortable working in a busy office environment.
Ability to work well as part of a team and fit into an established office.
Legal sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
