How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Deliver pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

    Follow school policies and procedures

Provide continuity for pupils during teacher absence

Have the flexibility to accept work that suits your availability

    What we're looking for

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification

Experience teaching within a secondary school setting

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

    A professional and reliable approach

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete the required checks

    What's available?

Day-to-day supply: Flexible work across Kirkby and surrounding areas, with rates of £120-£190 per day depending on experience and the role.

Long-term teaching roles: Subject-specific vacancies are also available for teachers looking for greater consistency, with pay to scale for long-term placements.

This could suit experienced teachers looking for more flexibility, ECTs wanting to build experience across different schools, or teachers looking for supply work while considering their next long-term position.

Apply today to discuss the opportunities available from September across Kirkby and the surrounding areas.
