The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Position: Business Development Manager

The Company:
The client develops and manufactures linear and angle encoders, rotary encoders, digital readouts, and CNC controls.
The Role:
• Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for developing new business in an area broadly covering the Midlands, North of England and Scotland, working from home and a regional office.
• The primary focus of the role will be to identify new potential OEM customers for the group encoder products from heavy duty encoders & linear & torque motors & motion systems.
• Secondary role will include maintenance of existing customer base and technical sales of the group brand encoders.
• Identification of potential new OEMs, End users and sales channels for group products
• Development of new OEM customers liaising with design departments and procurement etc.
• Development of existing OEMs (new products/new applications)
• Maintenance of CRM, market analysis and regular reporting (minimum quarterly)
• Attending Sales meetings at Head office in the South East and trainings within Europe group and parent companies.
Requirements:
• The successful candidate will have a proven record of proactively selling similar products into the oil & gas, subsea, steel mills, mining or Energy industries.
• They should reside in the designated sales area within commuting distance of the regional office in Sheffield.
• You will be educated to a minimum HNC Electronics, Mechanical or Controls Engineering.
• You will have a consultative approach to selling and must be a strong relationship builder as well as being self-motivated and PC literate with Microsoft packages
