Project Coordinator

Field based role
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to join our friendly and dynamic team here at Waterstones. This is a field-based role where you will be working with our shop development and maintenance teams to provide planning, coordination and support to the management of activities around capital investment and improvement programmes.
What you will be doing
- Ensuring coordination activities for projects are suitably delivered/coordinated and all tasks and activities assigned are carried out in the manner expected
- Key responsibilities will include: -
- Provide day to day support to aid Project Managers/ Building Surveyors
- Place and coordinate direct supply orders
- Coordinate and manage projects through robust communication channels
- Manage / coordinate with external contractors and suppliers
- Update the Project Team and the rest of the business with regular Projects Updates
- Attend/ chair team meetings as required
- Owning the resolution of any problems identified during project delivery
- Produce project plans for approvals and deliver to agreed parameters
- Building relationships with internal teams & keeping them informed of progress
- Produce procurement trackers and embed them into standard process
- Ensure that procurement activities are planned and managed to timelines and with opportunities for efficiencies identified and delivered
- Helping to identify areas for innovation & improvement
- Working and supporting across internal stakeholders/ dept to drive improvements to process, efficiencies and communications
- Carry out other tasks as directed by line manager
What we need from you
- Experienced in coordinating both internal teams and external thirds party contractors and suppliers
- A good understanding of project delivery and procurement processes
- Demonstrable experience of orders and payments processes and budget/ planning management
- Can manage requests for information and capable of prioritising own workload.
- Design spreadsheets/ databases and respond to all requests for Information.
Person Profile
- Excellent communication skills, strong team working abilities and self-starter who will look to develop the role as it develops
- Confident and determined manner capable of building long-term working relationships
- Confident and comfortable using and interpreting numerical data and programmes
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
