The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of personnel and goods in accordance with transport regulations and road traffic law, reporting to senior transport management.
Working a flexible Monday–Friday shift pattern (37 hours per week), providing transport support as required.
A large proportion of the role involves coach driving (Category D licence essential), transporting passengers to and from training areas, exercises, and various operational locations including local and national sites.
Key responsibilities:
* Safely transport passengers and materials using both coach and fleet vehicles in support of training activities
* Conduct daily vehicle checks, including first-use and end-of-shift inspections
* Refuel, clean, and ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition
* Record and report all vehicle defects or faults using the appropriate reporting system
* Communicate any operational issues or incidents to transport management promptly
* Follow breakdown procedures and ensure passenger safety in the event of vehicle failure
* Complete accident reporting procedures when required
* Support light vehicle maintenance and minor repairs when not on driving duties
* Assist with general workshop or depot duties as allocated by supervisory staff
Transport Duties Include:
* Movement of training personnel between bases and exercise locations
* Transport to training sites and educational or heritage visits across the UK
* Supporting scheduled training and operational transport requirements
