Your New CompanyHays are working in partnership with a successful and growing organisation based in Shrewsbury to recruit a Customer Account Manager.This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business in a varied role focused on delivering excellent customer service, developing long-term customer relationships, managing accounts, and identifying opportunities to support business growth.Working as part of a supportive office-based team, you will manage an existing portfolio of customers, acting as a key point of contact to ensure a positive customer experience, while proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and grow accounts.This role would suit an individual with previous customer service, account management, sales support, or business development experience who enjoys helping customers, building relationships, and delivering high levels of service.

Your New Role

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Act as a primary point of contact, delivering excellent customer service and support.
Manage and grow your own portfolio of customer accounts.
Proactively contact customers to understand their requirements and provide suitable solutions.
Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Generate quotations and process customer orders accurately.
Follow up enquiries and maintain regular communication with customers.
Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
Resolve customer issues and queries efficiently, ensuring a positive experience.
Monitor market activity and identify opportunities for business growth.
Maintain accurate customer records using internal systems.
Contribute towards individual and team sales targets.
Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
What You'll Need to Succeed

Previous experience in customer service, account management, sales support, or a commercially focused role.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A confident and professional telephone manner.
A customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering excellent service.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
Ability to build trust and develop lasting customer relationships.
Commercial awareness and an interest in helping customers find the right solutions.
Experience working towards targets or business objectives would be advantageous.You will be:
