TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic primary school based in the DE55 area, who are looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant. This school has recently been awarded an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating and is well known for providing a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to ensure pupils feel safe, supported and engaged throughout their learning journey.
The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Reception who has been diagnosed with Autism / ASD. The role will involve supporting the child throughout the school day from 8:30am until 3:30pm, helping with engagement, routine, communication and social development.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD
Previous experience working within a primary school setting
A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
