The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Automotive Technician / Car Mechanic to join our busy dealership in Shrewsbury. This role is perfect for skilled technicians who want to work on a wide range of vehicles, from routine servicing to complex repairs. You'll be part of a professional team that values technical expertise, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
·Conduct vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, maintenance, and repairs
·Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults accurately using diagnostic tools
·Perform engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension repairs
·Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with dealership standards
·Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues and communicate effectively with customers
Required Skills & Qualifications
·NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (essential)
·Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Automotive Technician, or Car Mechanic
·Full UK manual driving licence
·Own tools and toolbox
·Strong technical knowledge in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repairs
·Excellent communication and team-working skills
Desirable Skills
·Experience with dealer-level diagnostics and software
·Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicles
·Ability to work efficiently under time pressures
