How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The Hope Service is a unique service in Surrey offering a wonderful opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking teacher to work in a multi-agency setting which aims to enhance and improve the lives of the young people.

The Hope Service is a multi-disciplinary service for young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing complex mental health, emotional, social and behavioural needs which could cause a placement breakdown or may require a Tier 4 hospital admission. These needs cannot be met by one agency alone. It is a joint partnership between Health Services, Children's Services and Education who work together to provide support to young people in the community and through day programme provision. The Hope Service received an Outstanding grade in the last Ofsted inspection (November 2023).

At Hope there is a dedicated team of social workers, nurses, teachers, psychologists, art/drama therapists, psychiatrists, a systemic family worker and activity workers.

Our remit is:

To prevent or shorten Tier 4 inpatient hospital admissions for young people with mental health difficulties
To prevent out of county fostering, community home or residential school placements for young people
To prevent family breakdown, where a young person is likely to be placed out of county
To work with young people in the community and/or through the provision of an individualised day programme to meet their specific therapeutic, educational and social needs
To support young people to access employment, education or training on exit from Hope
To work with young people on a short- term basis, usually for 6 -12 monthsThe day programme offers structured therapeutic, educational and personalised recreational activities to young people. The programme is flexible to ensure that it meets individual needs in a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment. In addition to education, there is a focus on individual and group therapy, art therapy, drama therapy, psychology, cognitive behavioural therapy, anger and anxiety management, assertiveness training and practical social and living skills.

The successful applicant will teach a planned, bespoke PSHE programme throughout Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 in small groups and offer additional targeted 1:1 delivery, when required. In addition to this, they will also deliver tailored 1:1 support to young people in KS3 and 4 in employability skills, careers and financial capability.
