How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join a leading facilities management provider working on a long-term public sector contract.

    This is a mobile field-based role covering South London, responsible for delivering planned maintenance and reactive repairs across a high-volume of sites.

    You will be working on a critical public sector contract supporting multiple sites, each with commercial kitchens, dormitories, and associated building services infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Service, maintain, and repair commercial gas systems

    * Fault-find and diagnose breakdowns across gas plant and heating systems

    * Work on boilers, water heaters, pipework, gas air heaters, and radiant tube heaters

    * Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works

    * Carry out minor installation and remedial works

    * Produce technical reports, job sheets, and compliance documentation

    * Identify and quote for remedial works and lifecycle replacements

    * Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations, RAMS, and H&S standards

    * Liaise with contract teams and client representatives

    Candidate Requirements

    Essential

    * Commercial Gas qualifications (Gas Safe registered)

    * Strong background in gas servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding

    * Experience in building services or FM environments

    * Full UK driving licence

    Highly Desirable

    * Experience working on public sector or critical infrastructure contracts

    * Multi-skilled background (mechanical / electrical awareness)

    * Experience working with high-volume PPM/reactive workloads

    * Strong reporting and client-facing communication skills
