Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)

Hours: 2-3 Days Per Week

Salary: £16 to £17 ph

Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking for a part-time role within a friendly and supportive business?

The Role

Reporting directly to the management team, you will provide day-to-day support across the finance function, ensuring the smooth running of accounts processes and maintaining accurate financial records.

This role would suit an individual with previous accounts experience who is comfortable working independently and has experience using Sage and Xero.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

Maintaining Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger records
Processing supplier invoices and payments
Raising sales invoices and ensuring accurate record keeping
Reconciling bank accounts and financial records
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
Recording financial transactions accurately within the accounting systems
Ensuring all accounting entries are coded correctlyCredit Control

Monitoring outstanding invoices
Chasing overdue payments via telephone and email
Building positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely collections
Resolving invoice queries and payment discrepancies
Producing debtor reports and updating management on outstanding balancesAdministrative & Financial Support

Daily quotation chasing and follow-up activities
SOP/POP checks
Material cost checks and reconciliations
Supporting financial reporting and analysis
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting data
Preparing reports for management as requiredClient & Financial Analysis

Reviewing customer purchasing trends and transaction history
Monitoring payment performance and creditworthiness
Producing client profitability reports
Assisting with financial analysis and management reportingSystems Experience Required

The successful candidate must have experience using:

Sage
Xero
Microsoft Excel
Tradify (desirable but not essential)Skills & Experience

Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
Strong working knowledge of Sage and Xero
Experience with Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
Credit control experience
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organisational skills
Good communication skills
Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
