The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Support Officers to join our partner secondary academies across Chesterfield. These roles are ideal for individuals with a background in youth work, education, social care, or mental health support who are looking to step into or continue a career in pastoral care within education.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily emotional, behavioural and social support to students.
Work closely with Heads of Year, SENCOs, safeguarding leads and teaching staff.
Support students with attendance, punctuality, and engagement in learning.
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
Build trusted relationships with students, parents/carers and external agencies.
Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture focused on wellbeing and success.We're looking for candidates who:
Have experience working with young people in a pastoral, mentoring, or support capacity.
Understand safeguarding procedures and the importance of confidentiality.
Possess excellent communication, empathy, and resilience.
Can handle sensitive situations with care, professionalism and discretion.
Are proactive, organised, and committed to making a difference.Desirable but not essential:
Experience in a school or academy setting
