The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This role combines the scope of a Principal Authorising Engineer with the flexibility and exposure of a multi-site Authorising position, giving you both strategic influence and broad technical reach across critical infrastructure environments. You will play a key role in maintaining operational safety standards, supporting succession planning, and acting as the focal point for all electrical safety matters within the business.
You’ll operate as a key technical authority across a portfolio of NHS & MOD sites, ensuring Safe Systems of Work are compliant, robust, and consistently applied.
Responsibilities:
Undertaking technical compliance audits & reporting on non-compliance across sites.
Assessing, developing & recommending engineers for Authorised Person (AP) appointments.
Providing assurance that site-level operations align with approved SSoW through audits & competency assessments.
Evaluating competence, training & experience of APs & supporting ongoing development.
Providing technical assurance across HV/LV systems to maintain safe system of work (SSoW) compliance.
Implementing, auditing & monitoring SSoW aligned to statutory electrical regulations.
Acting as the technical interface between senior management & client teams on all electrical safety matters.
Requirements:
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (IHEEM).
Strong background within NHS, MOD, FM or similar regulated environments.
Proven experience as an Authorising Engineer or a Senior Authorised Person stepping up.
