The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Overview
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias on behalf of our client.
This is a hands-on engineering role within a busy manufacturing environment, responsible for maintaining plant, machinery and site equipment through planned and reactive maintenance.
The successful candidate will ideally have a electrical engineering background, supported by good mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
The role operates on a 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off shift pattern, meaning you will have approximately 182 days off per year – almost half the year. This makes the position particularly attractive for engineers looking for a strong work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
Maintain 3-phase motors, conveyors, boilers, bearings and associated plant.
Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
Complete inspections, maintenance records and documentation.
Support production and continuous improvement activities.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
Requirements
Electrical bias with mechanical maintenance skills.
Electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Engineering desirable.
PLC and automated systems experience desirable.
Manufacturing, FMCG or industrial experience desirable.
Armed Forces engineering experience welcomed.
