Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay: £80-£100 per day, depending on experience and assignment.
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire.
Start: ASAP, following registration and safeguarding checks.
Contract: Flexible supply and longer-term opportunities, depending on vacancies.Your Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant
You will work one-to-one and in small groups, reinforcing communication targets agreed by teachers, SENCOs and speech and language specialists.
Use visual supports and manageable instructions to make learning accessible.
Reinforce vocabulary, listening and interaction through purposeful activities.
Allow processing time and encourage pupils to communicate more independently.
Record observations and share progress with teachers and the wider support team.What We're Looking For in a SEN Teaching Assistant
Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, or credible transferable experience supporting children with communication needs.
A SEN Teaching Assistant who listens carefully, follows specialist recommendations and works well with colleagues.
Knowledge of Makaton, PECS or speech and language programmes is useful where relevant.
