The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
Our client, a leading organisation in the energy and oil and gas sector, is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a permanent position based in London. The role will provide environmental compliance, operational support, regulatory engagement and performance reporting across UK and European operations, with regular travel to operational sites and contractor premises.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and maintenance of environmental compliance programmes across operational sites.
Monitor developments in UK and EU environmental legislation and assess potential impacts on the business.
Assist with environmental permit applications, regulatory submissions, compliance documentation, audits and inspections.
Track actions arising from audits, incidents, inspections and environmental improvement plans.
Support the development and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System, including internal audits and corrective actions.
Provide practical environmental guidance to operations, engineering, maintenance and project teams.
Support initiatives covering emissions management, pollution prevention, waste management, biodiversity, resource efficiency and climate resilience.
Collect, validate and analyse environmental data, contributing to ESG, sustainability, emissions and regulatory reporting.
Job Requirements:
Experience in an environmental advisory, compliance or operational support role, ideally within the energy, oil and gas or utilities sector.
Understanding of UK and EU environmental legislation, permits, consents and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems, environmental auditing and corrective action processes.
Awareness of HSS or HSSE principles and their application within operational environments.
Strong understanding of environmental risk management, pollution prevention and sustainability improvement practices.
Ability to collect, analyse and report environmental performance data accurately.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, Projects and Asset Management teams.
Relevant environmental, engineering or sustainability qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
