The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:
Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.
We are seeking an experienced Sub Agent with a strong heavy structures background to support delivery of major works on the HS2 project in Wendover. The Sub Agent will be responsible for managing defined structures packages, supervising site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards in line with HS2 requirements.
This role suits a Sub Agent who has worked on large reinforced concrete and structural packages within major infrastructure or rail environments.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Section Agent / Project Manager in the delivery of heavy structures works
Take day-to-day responsibility for allocated structures work packages
Manage site engineers, supervisors and subcontractors across multiple work fronts
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, ITPs and construction programmes
Maintain HS2 standards for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)
Review, approve and implement RAMS and ensure site briefings are carried out
Coordinate temporary works, lifting operations and sequencing of structural activities
Monitor progress, contribute to short-term planning and 4–6 week lookaheads
Identify and manage technical, programme and constructability risks
Liaise with the commercial team on progress, variations and change control
Support inspections, assurance activities, NCR close-out and handover documentation
Interface with designers, client representatives and supply chain partners

Reinforced concrete structures (in-situ and precast)
Bridges, viaducts and underpasses
Retaining walls and headwalls
Piling and substructures
Temporary works coordination
Formwork, falsework and complex concrete pours
Interface with rail systems, earthworks and environmental constraints
Required Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in a Sub Agent or Senior Engineer role delivering heavy structures
Background on major infrastructure or rail projects (HS2 experience highly desirable)
Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural works
Experience managing complex interfaces and temporary works
HNC / HND / Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
SMSTS
CSCS (Manager or Professional level)
Solid understanding of UK health & safety legislation
