Hays Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Wiltshire seeking an experienced School Administrator to provide temporary cover from w/c 7th September. Initially, this role is expected to last one to two weeks, with the potential for extension.
This position requires a candidate with a proven background working within a school office environment. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and provide professional administrative support from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the front office and reception area
Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally
Supporting attendance and pupil record administration
Maintaining accurate data using school MIS systems
Liaising with staff, parents, and external agencies
General administrative support to the wider school team
Essential Requirements:
✅ Previous experience working in a school office
✅ Strong knowledge of school MIS systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or similar)
✅ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✅ High levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
✅ Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
Working Pattern:
School office hours are approximately 8:30am - 3:30pm
Flexibility available depending on candidate availability
Morning availability is particularly desirable due to peak office demand
If only part-week availability is possible, Tuesday and Thursday cover is preferred
