SSA are recruiting a Mechanical Estimator on behalf of a specialist mechanical contractor based in Essex. You will prepare accurate and competitive mechanical tenders, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.

Our client is a specialist mechanical contractor delivering technically demanding construction projects. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in securing new work, working closely with the commercial and project teams.
Key responsibilities

Prepare detailed mechanical estimates from drawings, specifications and tender documents.

Complete quantity take-offs and calculate labour, material and subcontractor costs.
*
Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
*
Review tender requirements, identifying risks, exclusions and opportunities.
*
Prepare tender submissions, clearly outlining pricing assumptions and clarifications.
*
Attend tender review meetings and support handovers to project delivery teams.
Requirements
*
A minimum of 3 years’ mechanical estimating experience within M&E or mechanical contracting.
*
Good understanding of mechanical building services, including HVAC, heating, ventilation and plumbing systems.
*
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
*
Ability to prepare accurate take-offs and competitive tender submissions.
*
Experience obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.
*
Strong numerical, communication and organisational skills.
*
A relevant mechanical or building services qualification, or equivalent practical experience
Salary description
£60000.00 - £75000.00 per year
