How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

About the Role

We’re always on the lookout for dedicated, caring people to add to our team. If you want a role where your work has a direct impact on children and vulnerable adults, and where your compassion is matched by responsibility and professionalism, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

As Family Liaison Officer & Deputy Designated Safeguarding Officer, you’ll play a big part in helping children and vulnerable adults live comfortable lives and achieve their potential, by building trust with families, supporting smooth day-to-day relationships, and helping to safeguard the people in our care.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) to ensure safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices are consistently implemented.

Respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately, managing referrals, reporting processes, and confidential records in line with statutory guidance.

Provide advice and support to staff on safeguarding matters, helping to promote a strong safeguarding culture across the school.

Monitor risks and identify potential indicators of harm, neglect, exploitation, or vulnerability, taking appropriate action when required.

Build positive relationships with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordinated support.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding audits, training, and continuous improvement activities to enhance safeguarding practice.

About You

A clear commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, with understanding of reporting/recording expectations.

Excellent communication: able to speak with families respectfully, listen actively, and provide clear guidance.

Strong organisational skills: able to manage multiple priorities, maintain records accurately, and meet timelines.

Professional judgement: able to escalate concerns appropriately and follow procedures consistently.

Confidentiality awareness: comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion.

Team-focused mindset: collaborative, supportive, and willing to contribute to shared goals.

Full UK driving licence is required.

Willingness to undertake and maintain DDSL/DSL training.

Maths and English GCSE (Grade 4/C and above) or equivalent.

About Us

Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school in Stockport for students with social, emotional and mental health needs, often alongside diagnoses such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. Many of our students are academically able but have experienced significant barriers to education because of complex mental-health needs, which may include anxiety, suicidal ideation, self-harm and disordered eating.

We offer a nurturing and highly individualised education without compromising on academic ambition. Small classes, skilled teaching and carefully tailored support enable students to re-engage with learning and work towards a broad range of meaningful qualifications and future pathways. Academic study is complemented by vocational opportunities and a strong focus on emotional wellbeing, independence and personal development.

Reddish Hall is not a traditional SEMH provision. It is a calm, aspirational learning community in which students are understood as individuals and supported to feel safe, rebuild confidence and recognise their own potential. Through specialist support and close partnerships with families and other professionals, we help every student prepare for a positive and fulfilling life beyond school.

At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.

We are proud to be a part of OFG Education who in 2025 were officially certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for the sixth year running.

Why Join Us?

We place students and vulnerable young adults at the heart of everything we do, so every day brings the satisfaction of making a real difference. We are committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students and young people. All applicants will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants to a fully enhanced DBS.

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

OFG Education is committed to carrying out a fair, thorough and efficient recruitment process in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. Whilst we aim to keep applicants informed throughout, OFG Education does not accept liability for any loss of earnings or other associated costs incurred by applicants as a result of delays or changes in the compliance process. All stages of the compliance process are subject to necessary safeguarding checks and compliance with statutory requirements, which may affect timescales.
