Looking for a systems focused finance role where you can make a real impact?
This key position sits within West Yorkshire Police’s Finance Directorate, supporting the integrity, accuracy and effectiveness of the financial and procurement systems that underpin vital policing services across the Force. We’re looking for a technically minded, analytical professional who can work confidently both independently and as part of a specialist team, managing a varied workload with accuracy and attention to detail.
As a key member of our Systems Integrity Team, you’ll help ensure financial systems operate securely, reliably and in line with Force policies and financial regulations. You’ll work closely with system users across the organisation, providing expert support, guidance and training while contributing to improvements in data quality, reporting and system performance.

Role and Responsibilities
You will play a key role in ensuring the effective day to day operation and ongoing integrity of the Force’s financial and procurement systems.
This includes supporting users, maintaining data quality, assisting with system changes and contributing to accurate financial reporting.
Key duties include:
• Supporting data quality, management information and data analytics activities across the Finance Directorate
• Providing advice, guidance and technical support to financial system users
• Designing and delivering training to improve confidence and capability in system use
• Supporting the maintenance of financial management systems, processes and reports
• Assisting with updates and changes to Force wide finance and procurement systems
• Analysing system inputs and outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance
• Overseeing supplier payment processing and supporting debt recovery activities
• Supporting the day to day operation of systems used for accounting and reporting
There may be occasional requirements to work flexibly within the 7am–7pm flexi bandwidth to support essential operational needs.

• Communicate clearly and effectively with finance colleagues and system users
• Provide practical, accessible advice on financial systems and processes
• Analyse data accurately and identify errors, trends or improvement opportunities
• Manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
• Work confidently both independently and as part of a specialist team
Essential Criteria
• AAT qualification, part qualified CCAB status, or substantial relevant experience
• Experience working with finance and/or procurement systems
• Working knowledge of financial processes and procedures
• Advanced spreadsheet and database management skills
• Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Desirable:
• Experience using Sun Accounts and/or Proactis Spend Control
