Job descriptionWe are looking for an Accounting Lead to work in our Amsterdam office to help grow our Finance & Compliance team. This is a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves type of role that manages and reports on all financial transactions within the organisation, and ensures accurate record‑keeping, compliance with relevant accounting standards, and the timely preparation of financial statements.
The Accounting Lead works closely with two Accountants and one Working Student, managing their day‑to‑day, as well as their development, to lead to a shared success. They also collaborate with our Financial Controller to ensure all bookings are accurate and complete. At iChoosr, the Accounting Lead is also responsible for leading the audit preparation process. Working together with stakeholders across the organisation, you ensure that audit preparedness is maintained, and provide any requested documentation and explanation when necessary.
We are in the middle of an exciting restructuring journey of the Finance & Compliance team to make the team even stronger and more prepared for iChoosr’s international growth. With the goal of implementing a singular tool for our global accounting, there is an exciting roadmap ahead in 2026.
ResponsibilitiesLead and work alongside two team members and one working student.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the GL, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
Oversee and control bank reconciliations.
Prepare manual adjustments and bookings (including payroll).
Execute transfer‑pricing calculations.
Lead the internal and external audits, including providing requested documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and collaborate with external tax providers on the tax returns.
Work together with the Controller to ensure all bookings are accurate and complete.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Prepare first half‑year closing, transitioning to quarterly closings.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Accounting, Finance, or a related field).
Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA).
Proven Accounting experience of at least 5 years, with preferably at least 1 year in a similar lead role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
People management experience is a plus.
