Lead Engineering

Are you an experienced mechanical engineer with a passion for mechanical engineering? Do you have extensive experience in setting up technical concepts and managing project teams? Then this role as Lead Mechanical Engineer is for you. In this position, you will work on a variety of projects within general mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering (outside the high‑tech sector). You are responsible for the technical design, the choice of concept and the quality of the technical file. In addition, you provide technical and organizational leadership to project teams and provide input for quotations and acquisition.

We are looking for a down‑to‑earth professional with extensive experience in mechanical engineering, who wants to develop further in technology and product development in the coming years.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Determining and responsible for the choice of concept.
• Setting up concept ideas in outline.
• Setting up constructions from a concept taking into account relevant aspects such as quality, costs, manufacturability, safety and lead time.
• Responsible for the technical quality and completeness of the functional specification.
• Responsible for input for the composition of the project team.
• Responsible for the technical aspects of the risk inventory.
• Ultimately responsible for the quality of the technical file.
• Technical and organizational management of project employees
• Providing input for quotations
• Providing input for thermometers
• 2nd line acquisition
• Technical management of one or more project teams
• Identifying and passing on shortcomings of team members to
• Possible 2nd job interview together with a PL / GL regarding a technical case
• Leading the way in showing initiative, identifying possible deviations within the project (time/quality) and making proposals for improvement.
• Internalizing and propagating the core values and working methods of the organization.
• Activities belonging to the position of (Junior/Senior) Engineer can (temporarily) be part of the job description.

Job requirements

• Bachelor or Master background in Mechanical Engineering;
• Preferably +-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering;
• Interest in general mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering (i.e. Outside of high‑tech);
• Good knowledge and mastery of CAD and simulation tool.
