Within the Health, Safety & Environment and Maintenance department, we are looking for an HSE Engineer. You are an important link in the further development, implementation, and execution of the safety policy at the campus in Etten-Leur. You are someone who gets energy from improving and expanding safety operational procedures. You have strong knowledge of risks, control measures, and how to drive change. Continuously improving the safety culture is something you are passionate about. You also have a strong interest in behaviour, perception, and their influence on safety culture.
Your work contributes to creating an even safer working environment within our production facilities. You won’t get bored, as you will be dealing with multiple Business Units in production and maintenance, various work locations including a test center, lifting equipment, and a machine park of 30 (CNC) machines in which we continuously invest.
Responsibilities- Actively work on improving the safety policy and further strengthening the safety culture on the Flowserve Campus, using strong communication and motivation.
- Be active within the safety committee and help coordinate activities and company audits at Flowserve.
- Develop and manage safety training programs for onboarding new employees.
- Organise inspiring toolbox meetings and provide practical safety instructions.
- Analyse and manage records of work‑related accidents and absenteeism, deliver statistical analyses, and develop effective health and safety measures.
- Conduct workplace safety audits and establish measurable standards to support continuous improvement, including effective follow‑up.
- Present findings and analyses during management team (MT) meetings.
- Play an active role in various HSE committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and more than 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Hold an MVK (Intermediate Safety) diploma or be willing to obtain one.
- Work experience in a production environment is a plus, particularly to understand risks related to mechanical production equipment and risk assessment.
- Strong verbal, written, and organisational skills in both Dutch and English.
- Understand and speak the language of the shop floor and can coach employees on improvement points.
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental projects during studies.
- Experience with compliance audits and documenting improvement processes.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills; structured and hands‑on.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Adobe).
