The Quality Assurance team exists of quality assurance engineers and quality assurance inspectors/metrologists. The department acts as a gatekeeper and advisor for assuring and maintaining the Vanderlande Quality Standard for parts and products. This is achieved by closely cooperating with Supply Chain, R&D and Project Execution stakeholders.
The key activities are divided into four focus areas: Release the Product, Manage the Supplier, Solve the Incident and Measure & Inspect. In this way we manage all Supplier Quality Assurance activities in a structured way and create focus to assure high quality and sustainable equipment and services through reliable supplier relationships.
What will you be doing?As (Senior) Quality Assurance Engineer you will manage the performance of the suppliers within the category you are responsible for. You will actively follow up on Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and lead Supplier Development programs (e.g., 4‑Blocker method). You will schedule supplier audits on a yearly basis, contributing to building sustainable relationships with suppliers. You will be responsible for the process of releasing parts and products within Supply Chain and qualify suppliers prior to doing business with them, together with stakeholders within Supply Chain.
You are familiar with LEAN/SIX Sigma methods, 8D problem‑solving methods to solve supplier‑related product issues and you are able to release parts and products at suppliers by means of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) or you are willing to be trained in one of these methods. Additionally, you have (Lead) auditing experience or you would like to be qualified as a lead auditor.
The function requires drive and initiative. A pro‑active attitude focused on assuring the quality of Vanderlande’s products and learning from previous mistakes is key.
Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the performance of suppliers within own category. Provide input to the supplier audit yearly plan. Follow up on SCARs and lead Supplier Development programs.
- Release Vanderlande products at suppliers by means of PPAP.
- Solve supplier‑related product issues, applying 8D problem‑solving methods.
- Perform well‑planned and structured supplier audits as well as internal process audits as a lead auditor.
- Report in a fact‑based way and have the ability to review audit/inspection reports.
- Act as an ambassador for QA, giving presentations to stakeholders about process improvements and ways of working.
- Work and participate as part of a QA team and align with Vanderlande’s Global Quality community on processes, ways of working and improvements.
- Work according to procedures/standards as agreed upon within Vanderlande’s Global Quality community and act as a role model for colleague QA engineers and inspectors.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Technical Business Administration).
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the technical field; electrical/electromechanical knowledge is desired.
- Excellent communication skills, good command of verbal and written English is a must.
- Experience with International Management System Standards (e.g., ISO 9001/NEN‑EN1090).
- Experience with (Lead) auditing (or willing to be trained and qualified).
- You are a team player and a strong communicator with the ability to apply distinctive communication styles and influencing techniques.
- You are a self‑starter, able to plan and prioritise your own work.
- You are analytical, able to link findings with potential root causes with a statistical mindset (basic knowledge such as histogram, process capability, etc.).
- You are a quality ambassador who can represent QA Vanderlande towards our suppliers.
