As a Telecom Engineer, you are responsible for the design, specification, and technical integrity of telecommunications systems for offshore facilities, including FPSOs and related infrastructure. You support projects from early design through execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring systems are safe, reliable, and fit for offshore operations.
Responsibilities- Design and engineer offshore telecom systems, including:
- Radio and satellite communication systems
- Public address and general alarm (PAGA) systems
- CCTV and access control
- Data, LAN/WAN, and fiber optic networks
- Telephony and integrated communication systems
- Develop and review technical specifications, datasheets, layouts, and system architectures in line with project requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure telecom designs comply with international codes, class requirements, and client specifications.
- Act as the telecom focal point within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Resolve complex technical issues related to system integration, interfaces, and offshore constraints.
- Review vendor documentation and participate in technical evaluations and vendor selections.
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and offshore troubleshooting activities when required.
