At the Borealis Hotel Group we are looking for a Cluster Chief Engineer for the Adagio Amsterdam City South and ibis budget Amsterdam City South.
In the position of Cluster Chief Engineer, you will be the point of contact for everything related to the maintenance and compliance within the 2 hotels.
The Adagio offers 151 studios and apartments and the ibis budget is a 314 bedroom hotel, both part of the Accor hotel brand located in the same street in Amstelveen, right on the border of Amsterdam South.
The hotels are easily accessible by car (free staff parking!) or by public transport with tram 5 or 25 stopping in front of the hotels.
The profile we are looking for:
For this position, we are looking for someone who is a proactive team player, enjoys varied work and can prioritize in order to keep the balance of handson tasks and coordinating activities. We are also looking for the following:
• At least 2 years of experience in a relevant comparable position in a hotel environment.
• Knowledge of the Dutch laws and regulations regarding installations and safety within the hotel industry.
• You have good computer skills, including Word and Excel, and preferably you have knowledge of operating programs; such as a BMC and BMS .
• You have a BHV diploma
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.
With your technical insight, you will have no problem troubleshooting when technical issues arise, make repairs when needed. In addition you will be able to decide when external support is needed.
Your tasks:
You will be responsible for liaising with contractors and suppliers and, as such, for scheduling periodic maintenance and necessary inspections with them.
Daily activities consist of
· Planning and coordinating the necessary activities to keep the hotel compliant and carefully recording everything to meet all legal requirements
· Managing and developing your colleagues in the technical team
· Daily follow-up of technical problems and defects
· Planning and coordinating of the preventive maintenance plan
· Ordering parts needed for hotel maintenance
· Conducting safety rounds in the hotel and providing safety training for the hotel team
· Maintaining the H&S digital files
· Ensuring clear communication with the other operational departments
· Implementing any changes in laws and regulations regarding installations and safety
· Providing input for the future development of the hotel, in relation to capital expenditure.
