We are currently looking for a Process Engineer Thin Film Pervoskite Technology to join the team in Eindhoven.
Are you passionate about advancing the energy transition and pioneering the next generation of solar panels? As a Process Engineer specializing in Thin Film Perovskite Technology, you'll focus on the technical operations and enhancements of various solar systems and processes. Your goal will be to develop and industrialize innovative solar PV technology and its myriad applications, supporting the energy transition and strengthening the Dutch business community.
The Solar Research groups consist of a diverse and international team of around 80 professionals. Collaborating with industrial and scientific partners and clients, you will be engaging in cutting-edge research and development in solar technologies and their integration into everyday surfaces. The Research groups boast top-tier technical facilities and deep expertise across the entire PV value chain, from small solar cells to scaled-up processes on semi-industrial pilot lines. The focus includes designing circular, reliable, and safe solar cells and modules, encompassing new cell designs, process and equipment development, reliability and lifetime testing, prototyping, field testing, and advanced characterization and performance models. Their mission is to facilitate the energy transition by providing sustainable, reliable, and highly efficient solar technologies for integration everywhere.
Process Engineer Thin Film Perovskite TechnologyMain responsibilitiesAs a Process Engineer specializing in thin films, your primary responsibility will be independently creating functional thin layers using wet techniques such as slot die coating. Your expertise ensures these devices operate flawlessly, and you will also handle maintenance tasks, both personally and through external providers. You enjoy linking your work to scientific concepts and bridging the gap with the rest of the team. You will manage and operate the machinery, ensuring optimal scheduling and operation. You'll be part of a diverse, international team with a wide range of expertise. The work is collaborative, requiring a strong team effort. Most of your time will be spent in labs, working with the equipment, but collaboration with colleagues in the offices is also essential.
RequirementsYou either have or are eager to gain in-depth technical knowledge of solar cell and module equipment. Hands-on by nature, you don't hesitate to open machines. You enjoy spending most of your time working with sheet-to-sheet equipment and processes, optimizing results with various solutions and inks. Open to learning new techniques, you thrive in collaboration with other engineers and multidisciplinary teams in an R&D setting.
- HBO level education (or MBO plus extensive work experience) in a technical or natural sciences field
- Proven experience with wet layer depositions such as slot die, inkjet, extrusion, gravure printing, and screen printing
- Proven experience working with complex coating machines that produce coatings over several hundred square centimeters
- A preference for working in a lab environment
- Insight into fluid dynamics and an understanding of "process window" concepts for optimizing new ink system coatings
- Knowledge of various solvents, including their compatibility, toxicity, and rheology
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Experience in an R&D environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
