About the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer

What to expect of the Senior Mechanical Engineer position within Huisman?

You will be able to develop innovative technologies and contribute to, for example, interesting projects in the field of sustainability. The complete design and production are done in-house, and we deliver turn-key products to our customers. At Huisman, you get the opportunity to see the projects you have worked on being produced. Personal development and training opportunities are also part of the deal. That means you will have the space to develop yourself into an all-round Senior Engineer with knowledge of various disciplines or you will focus on Design or Structural Engineering.

What do we expect of you?

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you contribute to potential project innovations and you make a proactive contribution to the further development of our Engineering capabilities.

This means you will be responsible for:

• modeling (FEM) and calculation of mechanical designs for heavy (offshore) systems;
• making system, basic and detailed designs;
• defining specifications for purchased parts;
• designing with a focus on: material usage, dimensions/weight, functionality lifetime and maintenance access;
• performing detailed calculations to optimize designs.

You are:

• proactive and familiar with new developments within your expertise;
• a team player, you enjoy working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and have the ability to work independently;
• flexible and creative;
• client oriented and focused;
• practical, accurate and punctual.

You have:

• a Master of Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the offshore/maritime sector or heavy steel construction.
• good understanding of structural calculations.
• great affinity with complex mechanical systems;
• the ability to adapt quickly to new requirements and know how to prioritize.

Some practical things we need you to have:

• an EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
• a good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
