About the role:
As a Junior Software Engineer, you will receive invaluable mentorship by our experienced Engineering team and the chance to apply your skills in a supportive and innovative setting.
You will have the opportunity to shape your program based on your career interests to engage in a wide range of projects that will directly impact our bottom line and your professional growth. You will often face ambiguous problems requiring you to define not only the answer but also the question.
What you will be doing in the role:
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of software applications using low and high level programming, e.g. C++, Python.
- Manage and develop data pipelines in cloud and on-premise environments
- Utilize Big Data systems, NoSQL and relational databases.
- Developing ML, AI and Statistical modeling services
- Participate in the full software development life cycle including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing software.
- Ensure all software is up-to-date with latest technologies and best practices.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Hold a BSc/MSc in in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM field.
- Demonstrate proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Rust and Python.
- Possess an understanding object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Exhibit knowledge of database management and data retrieval in real-time and multithreaded applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Embrace innovative thinking and autonomy while contributing as a strong team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of financial markets, trading systems, or energy markets are highly desirable but not a requirement.
