Our strategic direction is that we build the future of Wholesale Banking for our customers and employees. We create a fast, seamless, personalized & Data driven Digital Lending Xperience to become the best digital Wholesale bank.
The tribe consists of three area's; 1) Area Client Offering & Investors, 2) Area Client Services & Reporting and 3) Area Expert Squads. This position is within for the IT Area 2 in Client Offering & Investors focussing on the credit rating and providing the financial insight with the challenge to develop the next generation of the applications supporting our users.
As an IT Chapter Lead (CL) in the CO&I 2 are you are responsible for coaching and the PCE cycle (on both a personal and professional level) of the chapter members so that they can get the best out of themselves. You are responsible for the chapter for software development, including the engineers who develop the credit rating and financial insight services.
The IT CL excels in one of these disciplines and helps developing, updating and embedding expertise in their field within the tribe through active participation in a guild dedicated to the discipline.
In addition to your role as chapter lead, you work as a Dev-Engineer in a squad, consisting of business and IT Dev and Ops colleagues, that work on improving the digital customer journey.
Your key responsibilities
As an IT Chapter lead
- You are an engineer who achieved proficiency or mastery in full stack development and you are passionate about helping others grow in their craftsmanship
- You strengthen the ING One Agile Way of Working as a role model while safeguarding the Orange Code.
- You play an active role in hiring and retaining great sociable A+ engineers and giving them freedom to pursue quality software development with proper attention to continuous delivery
- Your primary responsibility is to facilitate, support and motivate your chapter members and ensure they grow in the discipline your chapter represents
- You create - together with the peer chapter leads and IT (Area) Leads- high-performing teams.
- You maintain contacts with stakeholders and external parties (for example Vendors, TPP's, API providers etc.).
- You are aware of personal development goals (technical knowledge as well as responsibilities) of your Chapter members and take this into account when you make decisions. Here you can think of conferences, books, hackathones, allowing to fill in for you when you are on vacation, etc.
- You are aware of gaps in the knowledge of chapter members that stand in the way of getting things done, you ensure they get discussed and addressed
- You are aware of obstacles (organizational and technical alike) that interfere with the chapter members' productivity and work with IT (Area) Leads to resolve them promptly

Proven track record and technical skills:
- Master of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- You are genuinely interested in and understand corporate lending business and how our customers use our products. You stay up-to-day on how the business is changing and are able to think together with our business colleagues about how best to evolve our proposition
- You are passionate about growing and developing technical people
- You possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Have at least 2+ years of experience in a role as lead for engineers
- You love technology and naturally stay up-to-date on relevant new developments
- 6+ years of experience in back-end development disclosed by RESTful API's based on the SPRING framework.
- Experience in developing front-end web applications with JavaScript (ES6), HTML, and CSS as well in front-end design patterns and understanding of the concept of web components
- Sound knowledge of continuous delivery and contious integration, including automation of deployments process with pipelines.
- You value a multi-cultured environment where English is the working language and you easily get on with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- You have proven affinity and practical experience with Agile work and new organizational models.
