How do I become a Senior Algorithm Engineer at Coolblue?
As a Senior Algorithm Engineer, you work on smart algorithms that help our delivery vans drive in the most efficient way. You develop, improve and maintain these algorithms together with your team. You're close to the operation, so your solutions match exactly what’s needed on the road. That’s how you make an immediate impact on Coolblue’s delivery service. You collaborate closely with developers and the Product Owner. You translate business questions into clever, practical solutions. This way, you make our route planning a little bit better every day.
You enjoy doing this
- developing algorithms that improve Coolblue’s logistics, like route planning.
- writing clean, scalable code that's easy to understand.
- sparring with Domain, Development, and Operations colleagues.
- explaining complex logic in simple terms to non-tech stakeholders.
- designing and building new features
- improving systems step by step without reinventing the wheel.
- Coach your team members on their technical and soft skills and provide them with feedback to help them get a little better every day
You recognize yourself in the following
- you have a BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Math or something similar.
- you’ve worked on optimization algorithms or heuristics before for at least 6+ years.
- you’re skilled in Python or another algorithm-focused language.
- you love learning and keep up with the latest in your field.
- Scrum/Agile comes naturally to you.
- You live in the Netherlands
This is what you’re looking for in a job
- Money.
- Over 30 training courses at our own Coolblue University.
- Travel allowance, pension scheme and where-you-work money.
- 25 vacation days. If you promise to come back.
- A discount on all our products.
- An extraordinarily good work environment with colleagues from all over the world who make you happy, epic (digital) Coolblue parties, pubquizzing, and other activities.
- Working together in an international environment with colleagues from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, and Italy, among others.
- Room for new initiatives and ideas. We’re always open to those, whether you’ve been with us for a week, a month, or a year.
- Hybrid working: a fine balance between working at the office and working from home. Of course, we’ll help you create the best home-office possible. Including desk chair, laptop, and blue garlands.
