In this role you lead innovation of our MR RF receive coil product portfolio, with a lot of attention to the interface between the MRI system and the RF coil portfolio. Together with the system architecture team, you are leading the technical definition and realization of innovations in the receive coil portfolio and its interfaces, in an international organization.
Key elements are physical patient handling, coil connectivity and patient table setup workflow, mechanical and electrical safety, biocompatibility, cleanability and reliability. This work is central to the daily use of the MR system; the receive coils are in direct contact with patients and are often handled by the operators of the system.You are responsible for
Defining the requirements and guiding the design of a leading MRI RF coil portfolio, with a clear focus on product quality and on ensuring great user experience, coordinating all parties involved in the definition, development, market introduction and maintenance of MRI receive coils
Maintaining a clear overview of the requirements of the set of RF receive coils used in the Philips MR portfolio
Leading the definition of all aspects of physical connectivity (electrical, mechanical, data, form, fit and function) driving for reliability, modularity, long term stability and channel count scalability
Enabling great user experiences based on solid workflow analysis, for many use cases, and translating that into system requirements
Negotiating the coil portfolio interfaces with adjacent teams responsible for e.g. the MRI patient table subsystem.
Ensuring compliance to the relevant regulations and business policies, including representation of your subsystem in regulatory audits
The MR systems engineering team is a global team responsible for translating the architectural and business needs of the business into effective and reliable system design, and leading the engineering activities that bring these designs to market.

The role requires
10 years of experience in technically leading roles in the RF domain (50-300 MHz)
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to consensus on high quality device requirements and design, on time
Ability to understand and help define high quality (safe and reliable) user workflows; the products defined in this role are handled by people regularly and directly touch patients
Ability to drive reliability modeling (based on PFMEA) to conclusion
Academic level of RF electronics capability and of the mechanical design of related components, with the ability to translate that into concrete engineering requirements, leading cross functional technical teams
Ability to deeply understand the drives of your team members and be able to constructively navigate a complex, multicultural and international organization
You must have proven knowledge of/experience in:
Systems Engineering, Requirements Engineering, Decomposition & Budgeting methodologies (e.g. INCOSE)
Creating trust and managing conflict within your core design team
Analyzing, estimating and articulating technical risks
Being very clear and maintaining a firm stance when needed---while talented at building trust in working relationships
Leading risk based scenario thinking
Furthermore, you will:

Provide vision and direction to both internal and external stakeholders
Be able to work under pressure to meet program time lines, meeting regulatory & business requirements
Take the lead and use your team management skills to achieve quality results in time
Have excellent communication and collaboration skills with English as a working language
Convince yourself and others based on facts and data
Act as systems engineering champion both internally and externally to the MR Business
Be willing to travel occasionally to the other MR development teams within Philips Healthcare across the globe, for direct contact and interaction with these teams.
